Independent parking guide
About this Melbourne Airport parking guide
Melbourne Airport Parkings is an independent information resource. We don't operate car parks and we don't take bookings. We explain how onsite parking at Tullamarine works, so you can pre-book with a clear picture of what you're choosing.
Scope
What this site does
We publish plain-English guidance on Melbourne Airport's parking products, booking process, and access procedures. If you want to know how far Value North is from the terminal, what happens at the entry gate, or when bookings close, this is where that's laid out.
We're not affiliated with Melbourne Airport or any parking operator. When we describe a product, we're describing what the airport states about it. That distinction matters: it means every page here traces back to something published, not to a sales pitch.
This site exists to explain, not to sell a particular car park. No operator pays us to favour one product over another.
Research method
How information gets researched
Our material is built from the airport's own published parking and transport information, including its booking flow, car park descriptions, payment methods and FAQ content. Where the airport states a figure, such as the roughly 100-metre distance from the T4 car park to Terminal 4, we use that figure rather than estimating our own.
What we publish
Distances, terminal links, shuttle arrangements, booking cut-offs, payment methods and entry procedures, written so you can read a page once and know what to expect at Tullamarine.
What we leave out
We don't publish prices, because those change and the booking flow is the authoritative source. We don't publish reviews or ratings, because those would be ours rather than the operator's.
Staying independent and free of commercial bias
The honest position is that the right car park depends on your terminal, your trip length and your luggage. A guide that tells every reader to pick Premium isn't useful, so we don't write one.
- No paid placement We don't take payment from parking operators to favour one product over another, and we don't rank car parks by who pays us.
- No single recommendation We describe what each onsite option suits, and leave the choice to your terminal, trip length and luggage.
- No invented detail If the airport hasn't published something, we say so rather than filling the gap with a guess that reads like a fact.
What we don't cover
Knowing the edges of a guide is as useful as knowing what's inside it. Two things sit outside our scope.
- Bookings and changes
- We don't handle bookings, changes, refunds or disputes. Those sit with the operator's booking system and its terms. If your QR code won't scan or your booking needs adjusting, the gate help point or the operator's support is the route to take.
- Offsite operators
- We also don't cover offsite commercial parking operators. The scope here is onsite parking at Melbourne Airport, which is what we can describe from published airport information.
How often this gets updated
Parking procedures change. Booking windows get adjusted, payment methods get added, car park layouts shift. We review the pages against the airport's current published information and update where something has moved.
If you spot a detail that no longer matches what you see at the airport, tell us via the contact page. Corrections from people who've actually parked there are the most useful kind, because a barrier reader that misbehaved for you is information we can't get any other way.
Who writes this
We're a small editorial operation focused on airport travel logistics. The approach is the same across the site: state what the airport says, explain what it means for a traveller, and skip anything we can't verify.
That means no invented figures, no made-up customer stories, and no claim that one car park is objectively the best.
You can reach the people behind the pages at [email protected], or by phone on +61 3 8318 4726 during working hours. Written enquiries are handled from 20 Keilor Park Drive, Tullamarine VIC 3043, Monday to Friday 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM and Saturday 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM. We're closed Sundays.
Common beginner mistakes we see
The same handful of things trip people up. Reading the booking and entry pages before you book avoids most of them.
- Booking inside the two-hour cut-off and paying the drive-up rate at the barrier instead of the online rate.
- Choosing Value for an overnight trip and giving back the saving in shuttle time.
- Assuming a QR code can be forwarded after the traveller has already flown out.
The limits of this guide
We describe processes, distances and rules as the airport publishes them. We can't tell you what the traffic will be like on the Tullamarine Freeway on a Friday afternoon, and we can't promise a barrier reader will pick up your phone screen first time.
Use this site to understand the options and choose well. Use the airport's booking system and support for anything transactional. If something here is wrong or out of date, the contact page is open.
